So I have been pondering all this past fortnight about what my New Years Resolution should be. Last year, I had the intention of taking my guitar playing on stage and showcasing my skills on an axe. I achieved my goal last year within a matter of weeks and continued it over my travels in South East Asia last summer.
I have been trying to learn Lap Guitar for a while, just messing around and getting quite a good reaction from anyone I show what I can do so far. Hence, I have decided to make yet another selfish New Years Resolution...to learn Lap Guitar.
But aren't all New Years Resolutions selfish? Perhaps not...
1) Make time for family, friends or partner or maybe for yourself - aha, that works for you if you decide to read 30 minutes before bed, start yoga or swimming.
2) The most common New Years Resolution has to be dieting. Everyone thinks about it, male and females after that slightly indulgent Christmas period. But does calorie counting make you more hungry? Maybe the solution is to forget about it all together and cut out snacking?
3) Putting an end to it...perhaps becoming more confident, which has always been a weakness I have been most guilty of. Foot down chin up and think positive notes and show it in your walk.
All New Years Resolutions start initially with a general overview and mostly end up becoming personalised, thats the beauty of them. How much of us keep to it, do we take Lent more serious or possibly our 3/5 year plans we regularly ponder about in our minds as daily life passes us by.
Its not too late to consider yours...
